OpenAI is poaching 3 leading engineers from Google, according to new reporting from WIRED. The three researchers seemingly come in a package deal, as the trio reportedly work closely together leading research at Google DeepMind. - source
Google has released a private preview of Veo, a text-to-video model for hyperrealistic video. While OpenAI has previously released video projects created by its own internal generative video model Sora, the firm has notably not made any announcements around a similar public release despite initially promising to have released by end of 2024. - source
Amazon announced a new set of foundational models under the āNovaā branding, which will be made available as part of the Amazon Bedrock model library in AWS. The firm announced 3 more general āunderstandingā models for various price points as well as content generation models for text-to-image and text-to-video.
