• OpenAI has raised $40 billion in a new investment round led by SoftBank, bringing its valuation to $300 billion. This marks the largest funding round for a private tech company in history. - source

• Wikimedia has reported a 50% surge in bandwidth usage attributed to automated AI bots scraping content for training data. - source
  

• Meta’s Vice President for AI Research Joelle Pineau has announced her resignation effective May 30, 2025. Pineau served in a leadership position at Meta since 2017 as was instrumental in overseeing the development of Meta’s AI technologies, including the open-source large language model, Llama. - source

• X’s AI chatbot Grok is now integrated into the popular and controversial Russian-based encrypted messaging app Telegram. Available to Telegram Premium subscribers, this integration allows users to interact with Grok directly within the app, enhancing the platform’s AI capabilities. Musk has also promised Grok integrations into all Tesla vehicles, which have hit record low sales following ongoing controversies surrounding Musk’s role in US govt.- source
