Google’s AI Overviews are now estimated to “swallow” 58% of clicks that previously went to websites, per new analysis from Ahrefs. – source
That’s a major increase from Ahrefs findings we covered just 6 months ago, which then put the number closer to 34%.
A new report from Datos and SparkToro suggests that Google searches per users are down in the US by 20%. - source
The potential implication there? Users may be benefiting from / learning to use Google’s AI overviews to get more of the answer they’re looking for on initial search.
