• Facial recognition firm Clearview AI was fined 30.5 million euro by a Dutch regulatory body for operating an ‘illegal database’. Uber was fined by the same agency last week for sending personal data of European taxi drivers to the US, a move which the rideshare giant is appealing. - source

Regulators argue Google created a "privileged position as the middleman" by tying tools for publishers & advertisers together. - source

• X was blocked in Brazil last week following long running requests from the Brazilian government to censor certain accounts accused of misinformation. Starlink, another Musk company, has also begun blocking X for any Brazilian users, after regulators froze the company’s Brazilian assets. - source

• Putin visited Mongolia this week. The nation ignored international obligations as an ICC member for failing to arrest the Russian leader. - source
